Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services Again Proposing Cap on Fee Credits

Last Thursday during its monthly meeting, the Storm Water Advisory Committee (SWAC) received a briefing  from Daryl Hammock, Assistant Manager of the City’s Storm Water Services Division (SWSD) regarding the department’s proposal to cap fee credits.  Currently, landowners who install storm water control devices on their properties receive a discount on their storm water fees in the form of a credit, and in some cases those credits equal 100% of the fee.

SWSD staff are proposing a cap of 72%, which would allow the city and county to capture more funding and allow the Division to complete more flood control projects.   At this point there does not appear to be an implementation timeline, either on the City or County side.  We will continue to monitor the situation as the proposal moves forward.  Here’s a copy of the presentation.
