1. Vote Today in the Charlotte City Council Primary Election
8,467 = Number of Votes Cast in Primary Election Early Voting
601,423 = Number of Registered Voters in the City of Charlotte
I don’t know about you, but to me that’s a pretty staggering statistic. Granted, this Primary Election only involves Democratic Candidates, but registered Democrats. along with Unaffiliated voters make up about 75% of registered voters. That’s still a huge number of folks who are eligible to vote and have not yet done so. As a reminder, if you are unaffiliated, you can vote in either party’s Primary.
To those of you who have voted, thank you! To those who have not, below are some links to help ease your participation and ensure you uphold your obligation to cast your vote.

2. See Item #1 and Go Vote!
My take: There are competitive races in several of the Council District contests:
- In District 2, Malcolm Graham has earned another term. His experience serves him well as he brings a calming influence to a Council that has seen its fair share of heated debates in recent months.
- In District 4, Wil Russell is not just a better alternative to the sitting incumbent, but possesses a strong background in the built environment, specifically as it relates to affordable and attainable housing. He would be a difference maker in Northeast Charlotte and is endorsed by Mayor Lyles and former office holder Greg Phipps.
- In District 5, Marjorie Molina has been hard at work representing her constituents since being elected just over a year ago. She understands that a key part of leadership is bringing together different interests in an effort to bridge existing divides. She is well-suited to represent such a diverse district and her abilities far exceed either of her Primary opponents.
