1.  The Charlotte Region is the Place to Be!

Because our goal is to educate you about relevant issues and give you access to important information, we’re back with our popular “Two for Tuesday PLUS” edition.  Here’s our list of things YOU should know:

  • CLT Council Transportation Committee Met Yesterday – Mobility, Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS)Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendments, and Community Area Planning were on the agenda.
  • Cornelius Extends Public Hearing, Postpones Changes to Land Use Plan – We were there and provided testimony last night before the Town Board as it considered changes to its Land Use Plan.  As a result, Commissioners sent the recommendations back to the Planning Board and the Growth Management Task Force for further deliberation.  The hearing will reconvene on May 1st.  Check out the article from Cornelius Today.
  • CLT Budget Committee Meets – The Equitable Development Commission (CEDC) made recommendations concerning community engagement and staff previewed the upcoming Budget Workshop where the discussion will include the revaluation process, property tax relief, CATS, water and Stormwater fees, and the aviation budget.  The meeting takes place Thursday, April 6th at 1:30 pm and may be viewed here.
  • Huntersville Ordinance Advisory Committee (OAC) Meets Thursday – The OAC meets this Thursday, April 6th at 3:30 pm at the Huntersville Town Hall.  Agenda items include tree requirements, minor subdivisions, and solar energy facilities.  Click here for additional information.
  • CLT Housing Committee Meets, Receives Presentation on Housing Trust Fund (HTF) Tune-Up – The Committee discussed preliminary recommendations to optimize the HTF at its December 5th meeting.  Staff refined the recommendations based on Committee feedback and provided an update.
  • The Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) Seeks Comments on Transportation Improvement Plan – The Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) has opened a 30-day public comment period to obtain public input on the 2024-2033 Draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), amendments to the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), and the air quality conformity determination report for the MTP & TIP.  The 30-day public comment period starts Thursday, March 16th and will conclude on Friday, April 14th, 2023.  Click here to review the draft plan and provide your feedback.
