The City of Belmont is updating their Tree Ordinance as a result of the strategic City Council retreat. Since it’s adoption is 2010, the Tree Ordinance has not been revisited. Madeline Keeter, REBIC Government Affairs Manager, is on the Landscape Ordinance Steering Committee representing the building and development industry. The current ordinance can be found here.
The timeline for the project is accelerated due to a State grant that the City received to conduct the revision. The committee is meeting twice monthly with the goal of presenting the revised ordinance to Belmont City Council by July of 2020.
